Independent journalist detained near Expobel shopping centre

Radio Svaboda's journalist Halina Abakunchyk was detained near the shopping mall that Lukashenka visits today.

Halina Abakunchyk, a journalist of Radio Svaboda, didn't answer her phone for a long time. Her colleagues managed to talk to her when the journalist was ordered to get into a police car “for identification”. She was then taken to a police station at the market.

Halina Abakunchyk was to ask market traders about their current problems and what they would ask Lukashenka about.

The journalist was set free an hour later.
