Belarusian to supervise Ukrainian National Bank's monetary policy

Dmytro Solohub has been appointed acting deputy chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine.

He is responsible for the bank's monetary policy since March 17, Radio Svaboda reports.

Dmytro Solohub was born in 1978. He graduated from Belarusian State University with a major in economics in 2000. He later graduated from National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy as a master of economics.

He worked as a research fellow at Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting of Ukraine in 2002-2004 and as a research economist at the IMF Office in Ukraine until 2007.

Prior to his appointment to the National Bank of Ukraine, he worked as a head of the research department at Raiffeisen Bank Aval.
