Novy Chas newspaper got official warning of Information Ministry

A non-governmental social and political newspaper Novy Chas has received an official warning of the Information Ministry.

Charter97.org website has been informed about that by the press-service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.

As the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Alyaksei Karol said, the ministry has explained its decision by the fact that the newspaper’s imprint does not indicate “the officially established name of the republican agency of state administration in the sphere of mass media, which had registered this printed mass media.” In particular, it was considered as a violation that the editorial office of the newspaper shortened “the Information Ministry of Belarus” to “the Information Ministry of RB.”

We remind that earlier the ministry issued official warnings for analogous violations to such newspapers as Gazeta Slonimskaya, Intex-Press and Hantsavitski Chas, as well as non-governmental ones: the republican satirical and humour magazine Vozhyk, and the district newspaper Nash Kraj (Baranavichy).
