Barys Khamaida congratulated Vitsebsk dwellers on Freedom Day

Today Vitsebsk oppositionist has come to the city center not only to distribute independent press.

Today he stands under his white-red-white umbrella with poster recalling of the anniversary of the proclamation of the BNR, Radio Svaboda reports. He has already received a warning from police and greeting from passers-by. Khamaida says:

-As soon as I got the poster, a man in plain clothes approached. He asked me if I knew him. I do not know him personally, but I have seen him at a police station. And two riot policemen appeared next to us. The man in plain clothes says: “May you not stand here with the poster?" I replied that in any other day, perhaps, I would have agreed, but today - no, because that day was a holiday.

The man began to call and riot policemen followed him. But after a while an unknown woman came up to me, greeted and even gave chocolates.

Barys Khamaida intends to stand with a poster till dinner-time.
