The acts of Russian aggression against Ukraine are a threat to the world that must be confronted in a global context.

U.S. President Barack Obama said at a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe in Washington, Radio Svoboda reported on Wednesday.

"The U.S. and Japan are two global partners, which stand together for the security and human dignity around the world," Obama said.

"We oppose the Russian aggression against Ukraine, provide assistance to civilians under threat of the Islamic State extremist group, fight against the Ebola virus and promote global health, and now we’re offering assistance to the people of Nepal," Obama said.
