US Senator: Congress supports sending military aid to Ukraine

The US Congress supports providing comprehensive aid, including weapons, to Ukraine.

It was said by Rob Portman, the founder of the Senate Ukraine Caucus, after a meeting with secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov, UNIAN reports.

“A meeting with the founder of the Senate Ukraine Caucus in the US Congress was held. The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in economic and investment spheres, including a more active military and technical cooperation,” a press release of the National Security and Defence Council says.

Portman and democratic Senator Dick Durbin founded the the Senate Ukraine Caucus in the US Congress. According to the senator, Ukraine needs comprehensive aid, including military assistance, to defend itself, and the US Congress supports Ukraine's aspirations.
