Belarusian HydroMetCenter considers Crimea part of Ukraine

Meteorologists in Belarus refused to recognize cities of the occupied Crimea as part of the Russian Federation.

It is informed by “Ukrainskiye Novosti”.

Thus, Meteoinfo.by weather forecast website has published correspondence of the portal administration with a certain Yauhen Yauhenyeu, who reporoached Pogoda.by website for placing the towns of Crimea in “Ukraine” section.

“The list of the cities, which is used for search of information about weather, does not correspond reality, taking into account that Crimea has become a part of Russia. In particular, the towns situated in Crimea (Alushta, Gurzuf, Yevpatoria, Kerch, Saki, Sevastopol, Simferopol, Sudak, Feodosia, Yalta and others) are still found in “Ukraine” section, though actually they should be transferred into “Russia” section (according to territorial belonging)”, – the user complained in the letter.

In their turn, the administration of the website answered to his indignant comments that they are referring to the World Meteorological Organization, according to the data from which the above-mentioned towns are situated in Ukraine.

Websites Pogoda.by and Meteoinfo.by are owned by the Belarusian Republican Centre of Hydrometeorology.
