Unemployment benefit is equal to $16

In Hrodna region monthly unemployment benefits are Br240,000, or about $16.

It is one of the lowest benefits not only across the country, but worldwide. The beggarly allowance from the state is not enough for an unemployed even to buy a loaf of bread and a litre of milk daily, Radio Racyja informs.

People who have lost job think that the leadership of the state is mocking its citizens who have found themselves in a difficult economic situation:

- It is going to become harder to find job, as half of enterprises is closed. Agriculture is ruined. It is impossible to find job for new unemployed. Nothing is offered by employment centres already.

City authorities in Hrodna offer the unemployed to solve the problem of the lack of money by participating in agricultural labour. Agricultural enterprises of the region are waiting for everyone willing and guarantee a daily pay of Br100,000.
