Negotiations with Greek creditors postponed until June 27

Greece and its international creditors remain in deadlock over its debt crisis, German news broadcaster Deutsche Welle has reported, with meeting of EU finance ministers held in Brussels on Thursday proving fruitless.

Finance ministers intend to continue discussions of the Greek crisis on June 27, according to sources close to the negotiations.

"The door is still open for the Greek side to come with new proposals or accept what is on the table," Eurogroup chairman Jeroen Dijsselbloem told reporters, Reuters reported.

Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said international creditors were going to look again at the documents submitted by Greece and their own documents.

"The institutions are going to look again at the two documents - our documents and their own. There will be discussions with the Greek government and we'll continue until we find a solution," Varoufakis told reporters.

Merkel earlier told centre-right party leaders there must be a deal before markets open on Monday, two sources said. The sources also quoted her as telling the leaders of the European People's Party (EPP) before the EU summit that Germany would not allow to be "blackmailed" by Greece.

Meanwhile, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said the chances of reaching a compromise between Greece and its creditors from the EU and IMF are becoming more elusive, French news agency AFP reported.

"The Greeks have rather made steps backward. Positions are even further apart rather than narrowing," the influential and hardline minister said as he arrived for talks in Brussels.
