Sanctions on Belvnesheconombank to slow construction of nuclear power plant

Financing of construction is carried out at the expense of the Russian loan and directly deals with Belvnesheconombank.

The USA has recently black-booked Belvnesheconombank (subsidiary of Vnesheconombank - ex-Head Pavel Kalaur), AFN reports.

The sanctions automatically jeopardize further construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, since all funds for its construction are provided with the Russian loan and go through Belvnesheconombank.

And while money was allegedly received in Russian rubles, many settlements with suppliers and contractors were carried out in dollars. Minsk and Moscow will get out of a mess, but it will take some time and cause many problems to the parties involved.

It should be reminded that the USA black-listed another 11 physical and 15 legal entities, including bank subsidiary of Vnesheconombank and Rosneft.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), VEB-Leasing, VEB Capital, Sviaz-Bank, Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft Trading, EXIAR, GlobexBank, Export-Import Bank, Prominvestbank, Vankorneft, subsidiary of Rosneft were imposed sanctions on.

Sanctions also are levied against Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, concern Izhmash; ports in Yevpatoriya, Feodosiya, Kerch, Sevastopol, Yalta; Kerch Strait ferry line.
