Five years later documents received

For 5 years activist Leanid Kulakou has been trying to get a doctor’s statement of injuries from battering by police on December 19, 2010.

He shared his awful story with charter97.org.

"For five years I have failed to get a document from the 2nd city clinical hospital. And only today I've succeeded. It says that I was beaten by police officers near the government house. Closed craniocerebral injury of the occipital lobe was documented.

People took me senseless in the ambulance and it took me to the 2nd city clinical hospital. Then the wound was sawn up and I was sent to do X-ray radiography. A few minutes later police arrived and I was taken to Akrestsina remand prison. I felt sick there. The police got scared and threw me out poorly dressed in the street. It was about thirty degrees below zero... I could hardly reach the shopping mall "Nemiga". Then someone drove me home.

I am amazed why doctors kept silence and did not want to give me papers. Why they have done it now I don't know either.

Today I've been telephoned and said my papers are ready and I can take them. I went there on my own for them not to change their minds", the human rights activist said.
