The Ministry of Taxes began to collect taxes from those who borrowed money from other people, including from foreign citizens.

People have to pay even for the loans they took 10 years ago, the press service of the Ministry of Taxes reports.

Tax offices say those who declared loans from other persons as income must pay a tax since 1015. Tax inspectors in the Mahilou region have found 108 such persons and ordered them to pay 632.7 million of income tax for the first five months of the year, Yezhednevnik reports.

A dweller of Mahilou borrowed $9,300 from a Russian citizen in 2006. The tax office received information about the loan from his tax return. To pay off the debt, the Mahilou resident had to sell the flat in 2013, but the tax office says he must pay a tax of 18 million rubles on the loan.
