The materials of wiretapping the staff of Ukrayinska Pravda have been attached to the case of the journalist in Kyiv.

The National Police have attached the materials of wiretapping the Ukrayinska Pravda personnel to the case of journalist Pavel Sheremet’s murder. Spokesman for the National Police Yaroslav Trakalo has informed this to Ukrayinska Pravda.

“After the resonance-making crime — Pavel Sheremet’s murder, there certainly was communication between the law-enforcement agencies and the personnel of Ukrayinska Pravda, including Editor-in-Chief Sevgil Musayeva,” — he has said.

“She indeed passed us an envelope containing the materials which, in her opinion, might relate to the crime. She noted that an anonymous person dropped this envelope off several months before Pavel Sheremet’s murder. Besides, no one addressed to the National Police with regard to the findings back then,” — Trakalo has noted.

“As Head of the National Police Khatiya Dekanoidze is not a procedural person in this case, she couldn’t interrogate Sevgil, so the materials which remain an analytical fact-sheet or compilation of materials under the investigation of Ukrayinska Pravda — have been attached to the materials of criminal proceeding over Pavel Sheremet’s murder,” — he has noted.

Trakalo has added that Musayeva was interrogated by the investigators in the framework of the case investigation, after passing the materials.

“Sevgil was repeatedly interrogated yesterday, right after she had passed the materials,” — he has clarified. Musayeva said “the first interrogation was superficial, more exploratory”.

“I was interrogated yesterday quite profoundly — they asked whether the investigations mentioned in the materials had been published and which means of communication the Ukrayinska Pravda personnel used,” — Musayeva has said.

As it is known, Musayeva said before that she had passed the materials, testifying that conversations of Ukrayinska Pravda employees, the murdered Pavel Sheremet in particular, were tapped, to the National Police.

Yesterday, on October 25, First Deputy Head of the National Police Vadim Troyan said that a week later, Germany would give Ukraine the information on the investigation of Sheremet’s murder.

We remind, the car belonging to Founding Editor of Ukrayinska Pravda Olena Prytula was blasted at 07:45 a.m. on July 20 in the center of Kyiv. Journalist Pavel Sheremet was in the car. He died in the ambulance. Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko said that Sheremet’s death was a murder.
