Ihar Buzouski seems frightened by the youth’s love to the Internet.

The society’s aspiration towards material wealth and shifting away from traditional values is a challenge of the era, which the state cannot ignore. Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Ihar Buzouski has expressed such opinion at the V Forum of young journalists “Common Look into the Future. The Media: Morality Dimension” in Minsk, the BelaPAN news agency reports.

The Forum has been organized by the Ministry of Information, the Belarusian Union of Journalists and the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

The state, Buzouski has pointed out, remains interested in the “formation of a healthy, moral, spiritual personality, who will form the future statehood further on.”

“The future values of the youth remain not just mere assertions, but the perspectives which will affect every one of us,” — he has said.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration has noted that the assessment of the society’s value orientation is being carried out at the state level. “It’s not a secret, and many take this for granted that the index of effectiveness of a person’s living is material wealth. This value is becoming the most significant, given the tendencies which exist today. However, alongside with that we are entering a contradiction which turns out a state one,” — the official has stated.

“The social processes, the large-scale tendencies, which are coming to us, the European values, which probably even became some international standards, all those are connected with the concept of socialization within the society” — Buzouski has added. — Still, how are we supposed to form the state if everybody forms like “Me, and the things around me”, “here and now”, “human rights”, “children’s rights”. I mean, it’s “me” in the center of the world and all the rest doesn’t matter. Is this socialization or de-socialization? “

Herein, the Deputy Head of Lukashenka’s Administration is convinced that “the subliminal message on which we have formed for decades are being destroyed.” “They formed in the situation when such concepts as morality, spirituality prevailed. Today they seem to be questioned. However, it only happens when such force as journalism does not realize the importance of its work in this direction,” — Buzouski thinks.

The Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration has reproached the media, including the state ones, of chasing the rankings and paying no attention to the issues of morality. “How to combine the rankings and the social responsibility? It has become extremely timely today, because, even in those subsidized media outlets which the state finances for realization of an informational policy it shows so clearly it even causes a certain wave of outrage, frankly speaking… The analysis of the contents which we now observe every day shows it contains certain threats,” — the official has noted. He has set an example of such negative contents — TV-programs about extrasensory perception adepts.

Buzouski has referred to the recent questioning of 8 thousand young people, 88,5% of which informed they found the culture-related information on the internet. “If we have a look at today’s world wide web to see what kind of information tends to prevail there now and how it corresponds with the concepts of morality and spirituality, it will make us shudder. What kind of culture, morality and goodness do they get from there?”, — the official has asked a question.

He has called the mass media a colossal resource which affects the social attitudes. “It has been said that mass media is the fourth authority. This is true, it has been confirmed by the contemporaneity, which is characterized today by such concept as informational wars. Information wins the wars. The once obsolete saying that the quill was considered equal to the bayonet has acquired a timely direct meaning again. Today, the media is considered equal to the soldiers in the front,” — Buzouski has said.

“Maybe I am overreacting in some moments, — he has added, — but, trust me, this overreaction comes from knowing the tendencies which are rapidly approaching us. In fact, it’s like the year 1941 coming again, with the only difference being that our great-grandfathers and grandfathers managed to survive back then, and I am not sure if we also can do that,” — the official from Lukashenka’s Administration has summarized.
