Lukashenka Thanked Aliyev For Oil

The dictator said that the partnership in the oil industry is not the main in the Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations and negotiations.

During the negotiations in Baku Lukashenka thanked the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for the recent oil supply to Belarus. Mozyr Oil Refinery received about 85 thousand tons of oil in October.

"It's not the first time when you support us, but that was a one-time help. I understand that every oil producer must have a strategy. We are ready to move forward in this field as far as it is within the interests of Azerbaijan," – BelTA quotes Lukashenka.

"If you are interested in European markets, and not only European, let's sit down and negotiate. We are ready for long-term work with Azerbaijan in case we agree on something," – Aliaksandr Lukashenka said.

Lukashenka noted, that the partnership in the oil industry is not the main in the Belarusian-Azerbaijani relations and negotiations.

"But this is an important area of our cooperation. Welcome, if you have desire and feel interested. We have two powerful, cutting edge oil refining factories. We are about to finish their modernization and will reach more than 90% of oil refining efficiency. We are ready to consider supply of your oil on give-and-take basis," – the head of Belarus said.

According to Lukashenka, Azerbaijan can consider Belarus its close friend. He also congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the "convincing support" that he had received in the referendum on constitutional amendments relating to the increase of presidential term to seven years.
