Lyabedzka: Lukashenka Can Employ Only 110 "Deputies"

Other message of Aliaksandr Lukashenka to the nation and the "National Assembly" has touched upon the employment:

"The task is to create new 50 thousand jobs a year. I stress that only 50 thousand of them are needed. Unfortunately, people now say that we need a million. This is ridiculous."

Anatol Lyabedzka, the United Civil Party leader, comments to Radio Svaboda on Lukashenka's speech:

"Our party has a program aimed at creation of a million job places. Lukashenka criticized it and then said we needed 50 thousand. He, I guess, does not understand that this is the program of the system reforms in the Belarus' economy. It decides the issue not only with new effective job creation, but it affects the financial and tax systems, as well as education - this is the complex of measures.

The task specified by Lukashenka - to create 50 thousand job places - is not to be implemented with a current economic policy. The best thing he can do is to employ 110 so-called deputies, who spent four years in their chairs, pushed buttons - Lukashenka can give them a job. If the economic strategy and course are not changed, we will lose old and ineffective job places without any new ones."
