The head of the UCP was once again fined 40 basic units in absentia.

The chairman of the United Civil Party Anatol Liabedzka ran into another surprise - the decision of the Soviet District Court of May 2, 2016 ("judge" Fedarava M.A, specialization - political trials). The head of the UCP was once again fined 40 basic units, ucpb.org informs.

“It was like a bolt from the blue May sky, – Anatol Liabedzka says. – I was accused of distributing printed materials with a call to take part in the Freedom Day in the shopping mall "Silhouette" on March 3. And after two months, the “Drazdy-loyal” judges decided to qualify those actions as an unsanctioned picket. It’s clear that no protocols were drawn against me on March 3, I wasn’t summoned anywhere, all was done in absentia. The only thing I have received was an SMS notification on the trial (two days prior to the “hearing”). My written request to postpone the trial was simply ignored. This was the first time when such bacchanalia and lawlessness took place in buildings with a signboard "Court". This is a situation when logs are flying and falling during forest fell. Court officials revel in permissiveness. They spit on the Constitution, on the laws. And the regime is cynically using the new European strategy as a tool for preserving the current situation."

The head of the United Civil Party also said that he would appeal the court decision.

"Our goal is the HRC (Human Rights Committee of the UN), and not the search for justice among thieves and crooks", – the politician said.
