The dictator is worried that the chairman of the Investigation Committee may be influenced by anyone.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka “from time to time receives information about attempts to influence the Investigative Committee in connection with a new assignment to the post of the head, the press service of Lukashenka informed on 4 May following the results of Investigative Committee Chairman Ivan Naskevich’s report.

Naskevich was appointed the chairman of the Investigative Committee on November 10 last year.

Lukashenka said that the Investigation Committee and its chairman, subjected only to him personally. According to the dictator, he occasionally received information about attempts to influence the Investigative Committee in connection with the appointment of a new head. In this connection Lukashenka underlined that there had to be no impact on the Investigative Committee.

Naskevich informed Lukashenka that the optimizing of the organizational and staff structure of the Committee had almost been finished. Financial and logistical units had been optimized, in particular.

In addition, the reduction of a number of posts continues in the Investigation Committee. Lukashenka urged to preserve the best workers of the committee. According to the head of state, those who, for example, do not want to continue the service can get under the reduction. “This was the way they went in the IC. Today there are no complaints in connection with the optimization of the stuff,” – the press service of Lukashenka informs.

Lukashenka was also informed about the change of criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of the investigative work, about the state of discipline in the Investigation Committee, and resonant criminal cases, which are under control of the ruler.

Moreover, Lukashenka was informed about the development of inter-agency cooperation, in particular, with the Investigative Committee of Russia. The dictator said that he hoped “Belarusian and Russian investigators would jointly fight against crime, as it would improve the efficiency of crime investigation on the territory of both countries.”
