Liavon Volski Is To Get Freemuse Award At Eurovision Stage

The Belarusian musician is to be presented the prestigious international award on the big stage in the Eurovision Village, during the contest Eurovision-2016.

On Sunday, May 8 Liavon Volski is to be officially presented the Freemuse Award for the work in favor of freedom of musical expression.

In just a few days before the presentation of the award the organizers announced that the celebration is to take place on the territory of the international Eurovision contest, on the big stage of Eurovision Village, which is located in the park Kungsträdgården in Stockholm, tuzin.fm writes.

The report notes that Belarus will be represented by Ivan at the contest, selected in the national final by the Belarusian state television, it is prohibited to show Volski and other musicians, who criticizes the regime, on its air.

Previous owner of Freemuse Award Esam Rami, who is known as “the singer of the Egyptian revolution”, will come on stage together with Liavon.

The Belarusian performer will take part in a discussion on music and human rights, which will be held the day before the ceremony.

With regard to Liavon Volski award, the Freemuse 's website posted an article entitled “A Free Man In An Unfree Country” by Ingo Petz, who introduces the work of the leader of Mroya, N.R.M., ZET, Krambambulya to English-speaking audience.
