Russian Fighter Aircrafts To Fly To Parade In Minsk

Besides, Russian troopers, who had been occupying Crimea and Donbas, are to march in front of reviewing stands.

Russian bombers and fighters Su-34 and Su-30 are to take part in the air part of the military parade on the official Independence Day of Belarus, July 3 in Minsk, said Uladzimir Makarau, head of the Information Department of the Main Directorate of Ideology Work of the Defence Ministry at a press-conference on June 27.

To the question whether the crews of these aircrafts had taken part in the military operations in Syria, the representative of the Defence Ministry of Belarus made no answer, BelaPAN reports.

As said by Makarau, some 5,000 persons in total are engaged in holding and providing support to the military parade, about 3,100 military are to take part in the parade itself. 18 foot parade crews have been formed. They are cadets of Minsk Suvorov Military School, cadets of the Military and Technical faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University, military of the 120th independent mechanized brigade, Air Force and Air Defence units, signal corps, representatives of the State Border Committee, the Emergency Ministry, cadets of the Interior Troops faculty of the Military Academy, fighters of the 3rd independent brigade of the Special troops of the Interior troops of the Interior Affairs Ministry, Special Operations troops (the 38th and 103rd independent mobile brigades).

Servicemen of the 76th Guards Air Assault Division of the Russian Armed Forces, which had been taking part in Crimea and Donbas occupation, are to parade in front of reviewing stands as well.

14 crews of military equipment – about 130 items – have been formed. The parade is to be opened by a convoy of weapons of the time of the Great Patriotic War: tanks T-34-85, IS-2, a self-propelled artillery system Su-100, the first multiple rocket launcher BM-13 Katyusha.

The weapons of the post-war period are to be represented by T-55 tank, PT-76 swimming tank, BMP-1 and BMD-1P infantry fighting vehicles.

The equipment in service of the Belarusian army is to be presented by parade crews of T-72B main battle tank, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-80 armoured personnel carriers, Boratyr armoured vehicles, Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers, multiple rocket launchers Smerch, Polonaize, BelGrad; Air Force and Air Defence weapons: Osa, Tor-M2, S-300PS and S-300V missile systems.

24 planes and 15 helicopters are to be employed in the air. Helicopters Mi-2, Mi-8, Mi-24 and Ka-52 of the Russian Military Forces, An-26 transport aircraft, Yak-130 trainer-light fighter, Su-25, MiG-29 fighter aircrafts, Il-76 strategic airlifter, L-39 military trainer aircrafts, Russian bombers Su-34 and fighters Su-30 of the 47th composite air regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces are to fly over Minsk.

The first training session for the air echelon took place on June 27. The next one is scheduled for June 30. The final rehearsal is to take place on July 1.

The full run-through of the parade is to take place on June 29.
