The opposition leader called on Belarusians to strive for fair elections.

“After precinct election commissions to count the ballots had been formed, it became finally clear for me, what kind of elections we were going to have. Today, when the commissions have been formed, we can already say with confidence that there will be no elections, – Mikalai Statkevich wrote in social networks. – Again they will just pretend to be counting votes, there will be specially selected people at each voting station, representing one institution – a school, a hospital, an enterprise.

One more time the head of this institution will take the fall, if they don’t sign an empty, with no figures, protocol of their results, as a guarantee of loyalty, a week before the “elections”. On the day of the “elections” the protocol will be filled in with the figures passed to the chairman of the district commission by a special group of the district administration, which actually controls the process.

Only with this another regime’s “elegant victory” over the people, their lives will become worse and the country will continue its free fall into the abyss.

To stop those who cannot get enough of the power, even having proved their inability to it, to build a normal life, we need real elections. They won’t be given as a present. They can be only efforced from this boorish power.

A rally for real elections is to be held on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk at 18.00 on September 12.

Let’s return the stolen power to the people!”
