Why did Turkey close the Bosphorus?

Russia probably refused to transfer weapons from Syria to its Black Sea ports. The Crimean Wind monitoring group reports.

It is noted that earlier the Russians used several civilian vessels to deliver military cargo through the Turkish straits.

But now the transport ships SPARTA IV, URSA MAJOR and YAZВ, which were part of this so-called Syrian Express, have headed for St. Petersburg and are leaving the Mediterranean Sea.

At the same time, the BALTIC LEADER and LADY MARIIA vessels, which are also listed by observers as the vessels from the Syrian Express, remain in the region.

On February 24-25, they passed through the Bosphorus to the Black Sea, but did not enter neutral waters, but moved in the territorial waters of Turkey to the east. On February 29, both ships entered the Turkish port of Unye (the center of the northern coast of Turkey).

"Presumably, Turkey, two years after the start of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, began to react to the secret transportation of weapons. There were no official reports from the Turkish authorities on this issue," the Crimean Wind wrote.

Recall that in recent days, Turkey has stopped letting Russian cargo ships with weapons and stolen Ukrainian grain through the Bosphorus. At least several cases were recorded when Russians had to turn their ships around and sail back to the port of departure.
