Political Prisoner Dzianis Ivashyn Was Banned From Parcels With Vitamins

The journalist has been deprived of food parcels for a year and a half.

Dzianis Ivashyn was banned from vitamin parcels. To send vitamins to a prison or colony, you need to get special permission from the doctor of the medical unit of the institution.

Previously, this rule applied only to the necessary medicines, writes nashaniva.com.

"The previous list of vitamins allowed for shipment has been cancelled. Even vitamin C cannot be sent to a prisoner without a "doctor's recommendation," Volha Ivashyna wrote.

Recall that Dzianis Ivashyn has been deprived of food parcels for a year and a half, in which it was possible to send fruits or vegetables to compensate for the lack of vitamins.

Hrodna journalist Dzianis Ivashyn was detained on March 12, 2021. A year and a half later, he was found guilty under Art. 365 (interference in the activities of an internal affairs officer) and Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code (treason) and sentenced to 13 years and 1 month in a penal colony in conditions of enhanced regime.

He is serving his sentence in a prison in Zhodzina.
