Poland May Close Sky Over Western Ukraine

The Ukrainian armed forces have disclosed details.

Ilya Yevlash, the speaker of the AFU Air Force Command, said that Poland has Patriot long-range air defence systems, so it could technically close the sky over the western regions of Ukraine.

Yevlash said during the ‘Unite News’ TV marathon that there have already been talks that Poland could close the sky in the western regions of Ukraine, which would allow the military to use the stations and launchers located in the west of Ukraine in other directions.

‘Of course, theoretically and technically this possibility exists, as Poland possesses long-range air defence systems, in particular Patriot systems. However, this requires political will, and this is already more a conversation between our diplomatic corps and top military leadership, who can agree on this,’ Yevlash said.

According to him, such a decision would make life easier for the Ukrainian Air Force.

‘We could use the scarce installations to fight tactical aviation, guided missiles, cruise missiles. Naturally, it would be of great use to us,’ explained the AFU representative.
