Lukashists Organise Another Round-Up In Baranavichy

At least five men were detained.

At least five men have been detained by law enforcers in Baranavichy, follows from the video published by the Main Directorate on Combating Organised Crime.

In the video, the detainees say that they participated in the protest rally on August 9, 2020.

According to ‘Mediazona’, one of the detainees is Piotr Zinevich, who was released under amnesty last year.

In 2021, Zinevich was convicted of libel (Article 188 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two years of serving the sentence at the place of residence. In January 2023, he was released under an amnesty.

The voice-over asks the detainees what they were doing on August 9, 2020. Piotr Zinevich replies that he was just ‘walking through the square’.

Another detainee's name is Dzmitry Blashchanitsa.

The law enforcers write that criminal proceedings under article 342 of the Criminal Code (organisation and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them) have been initiated against the detainees and threaten up to five years under the article.

We remind you that at the end of March the court in started to consider cases under Article 342 of the Criminal Code against 17 people for protests. On April 2, it became known that the court sentenced eight people for protests in one sitting.
