Alyaksandr Makaeu: “Entrepreneurs will rally only on October Square”

23

Applicants for the protest rally on October Square have stated that in the event of a refusal of the authorities they are set to gather to an unsanctioned rally of protest. The chief demand of the self-employed entrepreneurs is reversal of the presidential decree No. 760. Otherwise leaders of entrepreneurs’ movement predict social and economic outbreak.

“In the closest months after the new year stagnation and destruction of small business will take place. The rally is necessary for consolidation of entrepreneurs in defense of their rights,” “Telegraf” quotes the interview of Minsk member of the coordinating committee of entrepreneurs Alyaksandr Makaeu to Radio Svaboda.

Applicants for the rally on Kastrychnitskaya Square offer the authorities to allow the meeting for 5,000 participants, who are to gather on December 10 at the noon on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

Earlier the Charter’97 press-center informed that a court had sentenced organizers of entrepreneurs’ meeting on December 10 to an arrest.

The court of Zavadski district of Minsk has sentenced entrepreneurs Ales Talstyka and Ruslan Lutsenka to 7 and 10 days of arrest respectively. Enterpreneurs have been convicted for dissemination of leaflets with information about the meeting against the presidential decrees No. 760 and 302. The meeting is planned for December 10 on Kastrychnitskaya Square in Minsk.

As an oppositional activist Vyachaslau Siuchyk informs, the trial over the entrepreneurs was held behind the closed doors. Oppositional politicians and human rights activists haven’t been allowed to attend the hearings.
