Political prisoner in jail on Akrestin Street wasn’t allowed to receive congratulations on his birthday

Administration of the special prison facility on Akrestin Street refused to pass greeting cards to Anatol Shumchanka.
Entrepreneurs have gathered tens of votes and greeting cards to pass them to Anatol Shumchanka, leader of the republican public organisation “Perspektiva,” to the jail on Akrestin Street today morning, Radio Svaboda reports.
Anatol Shumchanka is serving 15 days of arrest for participation in the rally of entrepreneurs on 10 January. The rally was organised against policy of the authorities concerning the small business.
More than 40 people got arrests. Most of them are activists of the youth democratic movements. Some of them didn’t participate in the action, but were detained later and blamed of using of foul language.
