Babruisk ice rink closed

There is no official notice on closing an ice arena. Moreover, local newspapers advertise opening a new bus route Railway Station-Ice Arena.

However, the operational personnel is informed the shutdown will last till September, Bulletinonline writes.

–Ice rink will work till the end of the week, – ticket agent said. – Then the ice will be thawed till autumn.

Rumours about design faults have been circulating in the city since the pompous opening ceremony of Babruisk Arena sporting complex, which was constructed a year and a half before the planned date.

A version, promoted by Babruisk Arena staff, is that hot outdoor temperature in summer prevents refrigerating set to produce ice. However, ice rinks in other cities of the country work all year round regardless of outdoor temperature.
