Zeltser’s judgement to be appealed against in Supreme Court

US citizen Emanuel Zeltser’s lawyer Zmitser Harachka has sent a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court against a judgement of the Minsk city court to his client.
“I have sent a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court against a judgement to E. Zeltser, delivered by the Minsk city court,” Z. Harachka told to Interfax-Zapad agency on Wednesday. “A cassation appeal against judgements to E. Zeltser and Russian citizen Vladlena Funk were sent to the Supreme Court by registered mail,” the lawyer said.
It should be reminded that Mr. Zeltser was sentenced to three years in the standard regime penal colony by the Minsk City Court on August 11. The Us citizen got six months for using of fake documents and 2.8 years – for attempt of industrial espionage (articles 380 and 254 of the Criminal Code respectively). The criminal trial against Zeltser began on July 30. It was held behind closed doors.
