Ivan Shyla, one of the leaders of the “Young Front”, stopped indefinite hunger strike, he had begun in protest against his call-up for army.

It was said by Anton Kalinouski, deputy head of the youth branch of the BPF part “The Youth of BPF”, at a press conference in Minsk on January 30, BelaPAN reports.

Ivan Shyla was taken to the 29th air defence brigade in the village Mezhytsy (the Lepel district, the Vitsebsk region). “Former leader of “The Youth of BPF” Ales Kalita is serving in this unit, and he said on the phone Ivan Shyla had stopped a hunger strike,” A. Kalinouski said.

This information was confirmed by Mikhail Pashkevich, one of the leaders of the youth organization of the United Civil Party “Young Democrats”, who referred to Shyla’s friends in Salihorsk.

It should be reminded that on January 28, Ivan Shyla went on hunger strike protesting against his draft into army. I. Shyla demanded to review the decision of the medical commission on his fitness for military service in court and stop prosecution by the military enlistment office and the secret services.
