It turns out that Kusturica likes dictators

Serbian film maker told that he likes the “original” style of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s rule.

“If you want to film something prestigious, may be, not connected with Belarus, I think, we consider it an honor to cooperate with such man”, - Alyaksandr Lukashenka stated in the meeting with the film maker in Minsk, “Interfax-West” transmits.

“It is not a meeting just for protocol, it is the meeting with a like-minded person: in many, many issues our views are absolutely alike”, - Lukashenka underlined.

The governor gave Emir Kusturica a prize “For preservation and development of spirituality traditions in the film art”.

In turn the film maker underlined that the dictator’s style of ruling the country appeals to him because of his determination to preserve independency.

“Lukashenka is ruling the state with much respect and in an original way”, - Kusturica stated.

Nowadays there exists a system of destruction of small states. It is called shock therapy as huge corporations come to a country and eat it”, - Kusturica said.

“The theory of those who occupies small countries today is that they bring new working places”, - Emir Kusturica marked.

“But corporations take for themselves the benefits which they get”, - the film maker reminded.

“You govern in such a way, that the acquired benefit remains in the country, for people. You want to preserve your independency”, - he said.

At the same time Kusturica underlined that “one should pay a high price for it”. “We also wanted it, but we were impeded”, - he continued, meaning the bombing of Belgrade by NATO.
