Statkevich may stand trial in April

Mikalai Statkevich has ended examining his criminal case.

On March 24, presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich completed familiarization of materials of the criminal case, accusing him of organizing the so called mass riot on December 19. Lawyer Tatsyana Adamovich told this to his common-law wife Maryna Adamovich, Radio Svaboda reports.

“They have ended examining the case. The lawyer will file some appeals, she will tell me later to what they will relate. But I do not doubt what the replies will be. Then we will wait for a decision to send the case to court. How did Statkevich react? How can he react? You think he is indignant and shouting slogans? Of course, not. Whether he will admit his guilt or not, I do not ask such questions. Firstly, this is a secret of investigation. Secondly, I don’t doubt in answer. What can be said if he does not cooperate with them and does not consider them legitimate?”

The examination procedure took three days. It was conduced in the KFB, in Sapyorau Street, and in the investigation committee of the Interior Ministry. Maryna Adamovich thinks Dzmitry Us and some other participants of December 19 will be tried together with Mikalai Statkevich.
