Belarusian Interior Ministry not allowed to Interpol conference

Minister of internal affairs Anatoly Kulyashou complained about this.

A representative of the Belarusian Interior Minister was denied participation in the Interpol European Regional Conference on political motives, the country’s interior minister Anatoly Kulyashou said Friday, Interfax-Zapad informs.

“Our representative was not able to arrive at the conference due to confusion of ideas expressed in certain non-constructive approaches of European states regarding activity of our organizations,” Kulyashou said.

The interior minister noted in this regard: “There cannot be any disagreements on political motives between Interpol, our country and the rest member states.”

“International crime is within the scope of law-enforcement agencies. There must not be any artificial obstacles in the work of these influential organizations,” Kulyashou underlined.

We remind that Kulyashou was among those who were personally responsible for a brutal crackdown on a peaceful demonstration against the falsified presidential elections in Belarus. Dozens of political prisoners have faced tortures in detention facilities. Presidential candidates and members of their teams are sentenced to long-term imprisonments.
