Enforcing discipline to absurd

Controlling the labour discipline at enterprises in Maladzechna became especially strict after Lukashenka’s instructions.

Controllers and responsible persons are sometimes so zealous that it leads to ridiculous situations.

Staff members of Zabudova JSK were told they cannot refer to the firm’s administration even in connection with labour questions during work hours, because the administration headquarters is not located on the territory of the firm. One needs to pass the checkpoint to visit the administration’s building, but guards do not allow going out, Viasna Human Rights Centre reports.

Recently, when office supplies were delivered to Zabudova firm during work hours, guards refused passage to the car and at the same time did not allowed workers to go out to take the delivered paper. The problem was solved only with the help of the administration.

At other enterprises, security services began to record names of all workers who try to go home a minute or two earlier.

This situation only increases anger in society: people argue with security guards and are even ready to fight with them.
