Mikalai Pakhabau, the head of the regional branch of the Radio-Electronic Trade Union in the Minsk region, has been detained on his way to Barysau.

He was seized a newspaper “Novy Chas” and a trade union bulletin. The trade union leader was guarded to a police department in Smalyavichy.

As “Salidarnasts” learnt from the regional branch, Mikalai Pakhabau was going to Barysau to visit the city’s branch of the trade union. His car was stopped by traffic police near Smalyavichy. Traffic police officer Barsukou said he should search the car.

As a result, about 100 copies of “Novy Chas” newspaper and a trade union bulletin dedicated to the Belarusian People’s March, a mass action scheduled for October, were seized. The trade union leader was detained and guarded to a police department in Smalyavichy for clarification.
