Bricklayers show solidarity: Everyone resigns

A team of bricklayers in Mahilou showed labour solidarity.

After information appeared that Promzhilstroi construction firm refuses to prolong a labour contract with bricklayer Alyaksei Paulouski, the whole team of 15 workers applied for termination of their labor contracts.

Besides, all team workers applied for leaving the pro-governmental trade union, Viasna human rights centre reports.

We remind that on January 4, Promzhilstroi firm informed Alyaksei Paulouski an employment contract with him would not be prolonged. The worker will be dismissed on February 10. Alyaksei has worked for the firm for a year and has never been criticized for his work performance.

“They do not want to prolong a contract because being an active member of the independent trade union of radioeletronic industry, I actively defended workers’ interests. It’s a great pleasure to see I have respect among my co-workers, who reacted to my dismissal by applying for termination of their contracts. We wait for a reaction of our director, Mr Baldzenka,” Alyaksei Paulouski says.

We remind that 600 workers of Granit granite manufacturing company in the Luninets district left the official trade union in late December and formed a branch of the independent trade union of miners.
