Artist Mikhail Gulin fired from BNTU

His project “Private monument” was considered political.

The professor of the Architecture faculty Mikhail Gulin was fired after he had been detained in October square in Minsk. The artist wrote that in his Facebook account.

Mikhail Gulin worked as a lecturer at the “Painting, aquarelle and sculpture” department at BNTU.

The dean of the faculty informed him about the dismissal. “I don’t have time, write a statement that you quit voluntarily”, - he said to Mikhail Gulin.

Mikhail Gulin together with volunteers was detained on 9 October in October square in Minsk. The artist was creating the project “Private monument”: he was walking around the city with three pink cubes and a yellow parallelepiped and arranged them in different figures in squares.

The trials will be held on 22 and 26 October.
