Polish MFA supports boycott of ice hockey championship in Belarus

This conclusion can be drawn from a reply of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland to a letter of member of the European Parliament Marek Migalski.

The MEP asked about a position of the foreign ministry regarding the 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship in Belarus.

Artur Michalski, the Director of the Eastern Department of the Polish MFA, noted in his answer Poland supports the international boycott of the ice hockey championship in Belarus in 2014, Euroradio reports.

He says the reason is ongoing human rights violations and repression against the opposition and civil society in Belarus.
