Bloomsbury Theatre has to make excuses for the performance of Kupala Theater

London's Bloomsbury Theatre responded to a disturbance caused by an invitation to Yanka Kupala Theatre in the UK.

'The Bloomsbury Theatre accepted a private hire of the theatre by the Embassy of Belarus for a charity performance of the work of Yanka Kupala as a promotion of Belarusian cultural heritage. The theatre has had no involvement in the production, sale or marketing of the performance and it has not formed part of our advertised programme of events. By accepting the hire of the venue it was not the theatre's intention to make a political statement of any kind and certainly not to support or promote the incumbent Belarusian regime in any way,' said in the statement of theatre.

Perfomance of Yanka Kupala Theatre, which was held May 10 in London, has caused outrage among many fans of the theater. 'It is a geat shame that both the Bloomsbury Theatre,' said one of them.

The International Committee for Artists Fred held a rally in support of the Belarusian actors, who are persecuted in their homeland.
