Unrest on "Grodno Azot": 900 workers may be dismissed

Employees of the factory are outraged by the deterioration of working conditions.

200 people of the working shop, "Ammonia-3" of the chemical giant has not signed an official warning about the change in working conditions and demanded to call an independent commission to evaluate working places. 50 people left the official trade union in protest wrote "Diary".

900 workers have received a warning from the factory management that if they will not subscribe to the new working conditions, they may be fired. As the factory management added, the consent of the union it is not needed here.

The document states that from August 1 employees will be deprived of additional leave for work with harmful and dangerous working conditions (which is 7 days). Surcharges for "harm" in the amount of 852.74 BYR per hour will also be withdrawn. Also, workers will be deprived of a premium for the nature and specifics of labor - 1035.47 BYR per hour.

Do not want to work on our terms? You’re fired!

"I work in the workshop "Ammonia-3" for 17 years", - says Vladimir, the worker, who asked not to reveal his real name. - The attestation of working conditions was only on paper. Concentration of pollutants in the air, vibration, noise, radiation, physiological discomfort, the intensity of labor, and other hazardous factors haven’t changed. The company's management adheres to the following scheme: If you don’t want to work on our terms, you are fired. But who will work on such enterprise without experience? Can you imagine what may happen? What will happen to the city, if to our large- scale shop, where large amounts of ammonia are under pressure, will come unprepared people?”
