Communal services have risen in price

From August 1  in Belarus some of the housing and communal services became more expensive for the population.

This decision is contained in the decree of the Council of Ministers on July 30, 2012 № 702 "On amending resolution of the Council of Ministers on February 4, 2011 № 138", informs BelTA.

According to the document, the tariff for technical maintenance of residential buildings was increased up to 500 BYR per month per square meter of the total area of living quarters. Also, the use of elevators has risen in price, now the population will pay 2200 BYR for one resident per month. Previously Belarusians pay for this service 1700 BYR for one resident per month.

In addition, tariffs for natural gas used in homes, apartments and garden cottages of members of gardening associations has risen in price by 11.8%, as well as for heating non-residential quarters. The cost of electricity has risen by 23.7%. In particular the tariff for electricity in homes and apartments, furnished with electric stoves, has risen by 48 BYR to 250, 6 BYR.

The decision comes into force on August 1, 2012.
