Despite the refusal to give Bakiyev, Belarus is closely working with Interpol.
A candidate for presidency in 2010 Ales Mikhalevich commented to charter97.org on location wanted by Interpol Dzhanybek Bakiyev, brother of the ex-ruler of Kyrgyzstan Kurmanbek Bakiyev, in Minsk.
"Each country would determine which person from the list of Interpol's wanted to give, and which - not. The state itself decides who, in his opinion, in this list is a real criminal and who is not", - said the politician.
"Cooperation of Belarus with Interpol is very close. Most of Interpol officials are satisfied with cooperation with Belarus. on such issues as combating illegal migration and drug trafficking, Belarus fulfills its obligations and satisfies Interpol. And for the officials of such agencies as Interpol, the human rights are the least interesting", - said Ales Mikhalevich.
