Milinkevich: The authorities are not going to play in democracy

The authorities act, being guided by expediency, not by the law, suggests the leader of the "For Freedom" movement.

"The signatures that we have collected were verified by two groups of graphologists from the Interior Ministry. They didn’t have complaints to the signatures, but only to that the date has been put by the wrong hand. They clung as they could. If they only could understand the importance of step-by-step normalization of relations with the West, they would have seen the need to stay of people with different opinion in the parliament. I thought that they were ready for this, but, in fact, they were not", - said the politician in his interview to the newspaper "Nasha Niva".

"First, they were checking the first 200 signatures. Later, they took additional 150 signatures to the check. Of these 350 - 99 were recognized as invalid. Which is absolute nonsense. My team consists of experienced people who organized campaigns many times", - is outraged Milinkevich.

To the question whether he is upset, the politician replied: "You know, yes. Not because I believed in justice. But because I want to work with people. I really wanted to spend the second phase of the campaign brightly. However, I will work even without the elections: i will meet with people, travel around the country. I thought that the authorities are more sober in assessing their strength. That they are willing to make some kind of evolution, a play in democracy, if you want. But they are not. They harm themselves".
