Yarmoshyna: “How can one add 1000 people and write nonsense to them?”

The main falsifier of the elections thinks the electorate degrades.

Lidzia Yarmoshyna talks about her attitude towards social networks and opposition in an interview for Komsomolskaya Pravda v Belarusi newspaper. She also criticized ordinary Belarusians.

“I was outraged by comments to your latest publication about a correspondent, who went  back-to-school shopping.  I will again project it on elections, but I was shocked by the reaction of readers. They attack the corespondent almost calling her a pure stinker, who dared to criticize how parents treat their children in public. I read it and thought: Is it worth working for this electorate? We are pleasing voters and telling them: you are the best, you make the right choice. But are they able to appreciate honour, honesty and decency or have they degraded to such a degree that they regard their own  children as rascals?” the CEC head wonders.

Lidzia Yarmoshyna says she does not read Internet forums to avoid negative. She is not going to use modern technologies to communicate with people, she states.

“Like any other person, I communicate in my circle talking to equal people. I mean those having equal spirit, not status. One of my best friends is an ordinary official in the city executive committee, another one is a retired teacher, who works at school as a psychologist.  We have equal interests, views. We are friends for a long time – I met one of them in kindergarten. Talking to people on the Internet and revealing your secrets... To whom? To the people you don't see? I'm totally against these social networks. I don't understand how one can add 1000 friends and write nonsense to them. Unfortunately, we don't live in a friendly community. Moreover, the community become more aggressive and unfriendly. People don't love, talk, appreciate, communicate politely with their nearest and dearest any more. I don't want to expose myself. I don't plan to start blogging. I will discuss my personal  issues only with the people I find interesting and whose eyes I can see,” she said.

We remind all election campaigns held in Belarus since 1996 were recognized non-free and unfair by the OSCE. For this reason, CEC head Lidzia Yarmoshyna was banned to enter the EU and the US.
