Car of UCP speaker got burned at night

A Jeep Wrangler belonging to UCP speaker Alyaksei Tikhanenkau got burned this night.

The opposition candidate earlier faced threats and pressure from the authorities.

The United Civil Party (UCP ) website received information Henadzy Ananyeu, the head of the Vitebsk region UCP branch.

“A campaign was launched against Tikhanenkau in Orsha: some people filed complaints against the housing cooperative headed by Tikhanenkau,” Ananyeu said. “The complaints have not been received by the executive committee, when the city council head (a parliamentary candidate) said at the debates the housing cooperative headed by Tikhanenkau worked badly. Tikhanenkau's Jeep Wrangler was burned this night. An investigator said he should have expected this being an opposition member.

He also received threats that it would end up badly for him.”
