Lukashenka assigned Petr Prakapovich as the deputy Premier Minister having dismissed him as his aide.
The news comes from the dictator’s press service.
“Petr Prakapovich is now responsible for reaching the most important parameters of the prognosis for the social and economic development of the Republic of Belarus, meeting the state’s budget and carrying out the activities for modernizing the Belarusian economy”, - the statement says.
The respective order decree was signed by Aliaksandr Lukashenka on 18 January.
We would remind that Petr Prakapovich was formerly the head of the National Bank. Prakapovich’s reputation as of an economist was, to put it mildly, spoiled by the financial crisis of 2011. Belarusian rouble devalued 2.8 times in couple months. This is how Petr Prakapovich’s career ended as of the head of the National Bank. During his time in the position the inflation in Belarus remained the highest on the continent.
