Former political prisoner sentenced to 3 months in custody

A court decision against activist Uladzimir Yaromenak was upheld.

Minsk City Court heard the appeal of former political prisoner Uladzimir Yaromenak at 11 a.m. today.

After his release from prison, Uladzimir Yaromenak was detained several times for participating in Young Front's rallies. He was placed under police supervision. On August 20, Minsk's Pershamaiski district court sentenced Uladzimir to 3 months in custody for violating the rules of police supervision (article 421 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).

Minsk City Court upheld the decision of the district court. The activist may be sent to jail today.

Uladzimir Yaromenak is going to appeal against the decision to the Supreme Court.

Another former political prisoner, Vasily Parfiankou, was forcefully sent to the medical and labour centre.
