The discussion touched upon that at the ruler’s meeting with the Prosecutor General Aliaksandr Kaniuk today, Lukashenka’s press-service reports.

Lukashenka demanded to report on the specific criminal cases, including the corruption ones, which are of public importance and under his control. “After he had to refuse from the services of your deputy Aliaksandr Arkhipau this starts alerting me. May be certain people in the law enforcing agencies do not what they are supposed to do. It is unacceptable, when we refuse credence to a deputy Prosecutor General, fire him. It is not good”, - Aliaksandr Lukashenka stated.

“His friends drew him into this swindle, a person was killed, a drunk driver. It is not important what kind of relations they had, but a person died. Imagine, how the family reacts. The case was hushed up with the help of the authorities. What will people think, the family? They will think that we have no authorities? Where is justice? That is why control what measures are taken”, - he said.

Earlier nothing was reported of the dismissal of the deputy Prosecutor General Aliaksandr Arkhipau, but his name disappeared from the “Management” page of the Prosecutor General Office’s web-site.

State Councilor of Justice of the 3 rank Aliaksandr Arkhipau was appointed a deputy Prosecutor General about a year ago after Viktar Konan was fired, who was in charge of one of the key areas – fight on corruption. According to unconfirmed information, Arkhipau was in charge of investigations. Last week he was supposed to receive citizens in Barysau.

In 2011 Arkhipau was included in the list of the state officials, against whom European Union’s sanctions were introduced.
