Breakthrough attempt on Belarusian-Polish border

A Chrysler Voyager driver tried to break through the border at Warsaw Bridge checkpoint.

There was a discussion recently about an incident at Damachova checkpoint, where a BMW 3-Series driver knocked down the barrier at a high speed and tried to hide in Belarus.

Another similar case is reported to have happened. The Chrysler Voyager made an attempt to break through the border, the press service of the State Customs Committee informs. The attempt failed, onliner.by writes.

“The Chrysler Voyager driver, who carried a commercial lot of goods, deliberately chose the green channel, which is intended for carrying personal belonging not subject to customs declaring, when crossing the Belarusian-Polish border,” the State Customs Committee says. “Brest customs officers were carrying out a special inspection at the checkpoint. Customs officers tried to stop the car as it left the territory of the green channel, but the driver didn't slow down. He tried to leave the checkpoint. Measures to forcefully stop the vehicle were applied.”

Customs officers searched the car and found illegally transported clothes, footwear and three 75-inch Samsung TVs. The Brest customs office launched an administrative process over the incident. The total cost of the goods is preliminary estimated at about 800 million Belarusian rubles.
