Zisser tells why authorities do not interfere with TUT.by

A businessman has a simple secret: you shouldn't be like charter97.org.

Businessman Yury Zisser, a member of the dissolved Public Advisory Council at the president's administration, participated in a discussion of the situation in Belarus organised by the Endowment for International Peace in Washington on April 12. Traditionally, he brought accusations against our website.

The servile businessman insistingly continues to promote Charter'97. He has been mentioning the website in his every statement, both public and private, for the last two years and accusing the website of all sins: we provoked a crisis, sold out to both the West and the Kremlin, eliminated the freedom of speech, executed Kavalyou and Kanavalau and became a reason for poverty among Belarusians.

Yury Zisser's insight surprisingly coincided with the moment when the traffic charter97.org became comparable with that of TUT.by.

Answering a direct question of a Voice of America journalist of how Yury Zisser and his website manages to survive in the dictatorial country, the businessman could not help saying:

“Certain pro-opposition resources – Charter'97, Belorusski Partizan and others – hold a clearly propaganda position in our country. They emigrated long ago, some of them mentally, but some physically, and lost touch with the country. They don't understand what is going on here. That's why they are shouting those who remained to work in Belarus are KGB agents and servants of the regime. We are still convinced that we need to work inside the country. Yes, we have some restrictions, but no one can find faults with you if you don't publish unverified  information.”
